Topsfield Fair

There is always so much to see and EAT at the Topsfield Fair. I used to go every year but for some reason I have not been for the past 3 years. So glad I went this year. There are some beautiful flower and garden displays set up in one barn and then the next barn has an incubator so you can watch the chickens hatching. I could stand and watch that for hours. There are many other animals as well. Sheep, goats, donkeys, horses, pigs, and cows. You can watch a cow milking demonstration in the cow barn.  I enjoyed watching the pig races.

and the tiny pig swimming to get an oreo cookie at the end.

There was plenty of free music on several different stages throughout the fair grounds. It was nice to stop and listen to some of that.
And the food... so much to pick from. I had a bloomin onion, sausage with onion and peppers, dole whip (not as good as Disney) and some fudge. I was with my cousin who had a steak and cheese sub and said it was delicious. There was deep fried everything, I almost tried deep fried oreos, so much to pick but don't plan to come here and eat healthy.
There was the pumpkin contest to see who could grow the biggest pumpkin. The winner was over 2000 pounds.

There is so much to see I can't write about it all in this short blog post. All I can say is its worth the $20 entry fee to spend the day here. Parking also costs. That was $15 for me. I parked across from the main entrance in parking lot C.

The sculptor had the front of this sand sculpture completed but he was still working on the back side. As you can see in the picture, this was taller than the building behind it. That building behind it had the bees. You could see them producing honey and then see all the wonderful candles made with the beeswax. You can also make a candle using beeswax for only $1. Lots of little kiddos were doing that when I was there.
Every year the fair ends on Columbus day. Still a few more days left so you should go and explore. You will have a great time.
