Kittery Maine

Image
This past week I took a trip to Kittery Maine to shop at the outlet stores. I had never been there so I wanted to check it out. After a less than 2 hour ride I started my day at the Kittery Trading Post. My favorite store of the day. This place was HUGE and sold so many different things. There was clothing, sporting equipment, food and spices, gift ideas and so much more. I will definitely go back just for this store.  If you are planning to go there for the day I would suggest stopping at the customer service center first to pick up a brochure with the map and names of all the stores. This also shows you where all the restrooms are. My complaint for the day was that several stores were vacant. I was looking forward to shopping at "Maine Collection" but that was one of the vacant stores. If you are looking for any Boston sports memorabilia I would suggest going to Boston sports cave. I enjoyed that store. Once I had enough shopping I went to Nubble light house which was only

Rhode Island road trip

Narragansett and the surrounding area has a lot to offer other than beaches. I took a "rhode" trip to explore. First stop was the village of Wickford. There are several little shops and restaurants. Many restaurants have outdoor decks on the water. Spent a couple of hours walking around here, bought a few things, then ventured on to the next town of Kingstown. Here we went to the Azalea gardens. They were not in bloom but there were some nice things to see and it was a nice place to walk around. I will definitely go back next year when the azaleas are in bloom. I should also mention that admission is free, but donations are accepted and they sell quite a few different plants. Next was the Hannah Robinson Tower. I was a little disappointed when I reached the top because there were too many trees blocking what should have been a nice view. The next town was Narragansett. We stopped at Aunt Carrie's to get some delicious ice cream. We decided on ice cream for our lunch. The

Yarmouth Sand Sculptures

One Cape trip I recommend  everyone take is a day in Yarmouth after July 4th to find the sand sculptures. artists start making the sculptures around memorial day and are finished by July 4th. You can get a map online or stop at the visitors center on route 6 to get one. I did this trip Saturday July 31st. My first stop was at the canal. I find this place so relaxing. I spend many days just sitting here watching all the boats go by. After leaving the canal I headed over the bridge and stopped at the route 6 visitors center to get my copy of the sand sculptures map. The first sand sculpture is located here at the visitors center. This year there were 32 sand creations to find, with most of them on route 28. In past years there have been as many as 43. Here are pictures of a few of my favorites from this year. My daughter and I take this trip every year and after finding all the sand creations we are hungry so time for dinner. This year we ordered take out from Sandwich Pizza and we ate
