Fort Stark in New Castle, NH

 Yesterday I had planned to go to Portsmouth, NH to walk around all the shops in town but instead I stopped at Fort Stark in New Castle, NH and spent so much time there I never made it to Portsmouth. Fort Stark was first built in 1746 when Battery Cumberland used the fort to defend against the French. The fort was rebuilt in 1775 with new gun platforms and new barracks. The fort is named in honor of John Stark,  commander of N.H. forces at the Battle of Bennington (1777). this picture below is how the fort  looks now and the next picture is a drawing showing how it probably looked.  The fort is in pretty rough shape causing the state to put fences around certain parts that are unsafe you can't walk through them, but there is quite a bit of the fort that you can explore and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The best part was the gorgeous view from the top of the fort. Unfortunately in the sections of the fort that you can explore, people have drawn a lot of graffiti as you can see in the
