Pickety Place for Lunch

Image
I recently took another trip to Mason, NH for lunch. I took the 90 minute drive along with a friend to get lunch at Pickety Place. If you haven't been there I strongly suggest that you make the trip. The cute cottage in NH has been converted into a restaurant and gift shop.  They have 3 seatings for lunch at 11:30, 12:45 and 2:00. When the dinner bell rings you can enter the restaurant and will be told which table is yours. You MUST make a reservation in advance. I suggest at least 2 weeks in advance although one time I had to go 3 weeks out to find an available time. Everyone eats the same meal. When you get to your table there will be crakcers and dip for you to enjoy. Once the waitress gets your drink order she will bring the bread of the month to your table. I went in April so this was the April menu When I go to this place I am trying food  have never had before and it is all delicious. Each course is crought to your table once you finish the previous course. The on...

Good Eats on the Cape

Image
I like to spend time on cape cod and while there I need to eat. Two of my favorites that I always go to are The Breakfast room for breakfast and T he Yarmouth House for dinner, both are located on route 28 The breakfast room always has some good specials like the banana bread french toast and the blueberry bread french toast which I had this latest visit. I got 5 pieces of bacon with my french toast and it was topped with whipped cream. Delicious!! I am a tea drinker and I love that this restaurant has so many tea flavors. When you order tea, the waitress brings out your hot water and a basket of tea bags to pick from. I usually choose some type of pepermint tea. The total for my meal, which I couldn't finish because there was so much food, and my tea was $14. Hell of a deal!! For dinner I always try to go to Yarmouth House and I love their Sunrise Special dinner deal. If you dine between 3:00 and 5:30 you can order from the sunrise specials. This deal includes 3 courses of appe...

Weekend at Hyannis Harbor Hotel

Image
I love spending time on Cape Cod but sometimes it is just too crowded for me during the summer. I decided to take a long weekend in Hyannis before the busy season starts. I went Saturday May 2nd until Monday May 4th. I try to go every year but tis year I tried a new hotel. I stayed in Hyannis at The Hyannis Harbot Hotel. The Hotel was so nice and the staff was wonderful. Check in was quick and easy. My room had a king bed and sleep sofa. The room was quite spacious. Just outside the door was a balcony with a roof which was nice because there was some rain when I was there but I could sit outside and watch the ferries come and go at night.   There was a light rain Saturday when I arrived but I sat outside and enjoyed the view. Sunday morning I started my day with a walk at West Dennis beach. This is a great location to walk before the summer crowds are here. After that I returned to the hotel and I went for a walk across the street where the ferries are and there is a small pa...
