Chatham Pumpkin People

Image
It is October, the month of pumpkins, so once again I traveled to Chatham, MA to view the pumpkin people in the park. Each year businesses in Chatham put together a display using pumpkins. These displays are set up for viewing in Kate Gould Park. I love looking at these. So worth the 1.5 hour drive to see them. Here are pictures of some of my favorites. After walking through the park I went to the Chatham Fish Pier and let the seals entertain me for an hour. The restrooms at the Chatham Fish Pier are open year round, just in case you were wondering. Then went for some lunch at Kream and Cone in Dennis. I had fried clam strip plate which comes with both french fries and onion rings. I paid $21 for the plate and couldn't finish so I brought the rest home for lunch the next day. I was with my mother-in-law and she got the fried oyster plate which was $29.99. Kream and Cone closes for the season on October 29th.

Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular

Image
If you have a free evening this month I recommend you go to Rogers Williams Zoo in Providence, RI to see thousands of carved pumpkins.  I went for the first time and I am excited to go again. There was just so much to see. Some of the pumpkins have a etching on them and then a light inside so the picture glows. Those were some of my favorites. Especially the picture of Einstein. The pumpkins are on both sides of the mile long trail and they are hanging from the tree branches above you.  You have to see this display. I can't find the words to describe how much I enjoyed walking through this spook-tacular.  The Jack-O-Lantern spectacular is open every night 6pm to 10:30 now through October 31st. You MUST buy your time specific tickets online. Ticket times are 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, and 10pm. You have an hour to arrive. I had a 7pm ticket so I had until 8pm to enter. Then you take your time to walk through the path Ticket prices are $18 Monday through Thursday and $21 for Friday, Satur
