Holiday Lights Spectacular

I love looking at all the Christmas light displays this time of year. On Thursday I went to one display for the first time. I went to the Holiday Lights Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island. I highly reccomend this to everyone. The cost is $15 for adults and $13 for kiddos. Under 2 years of age are free. You must buy your tickets online and you have to pick your arrival time starting with the 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and ending with 8:00 to 9:00 pm. The event closes for the day at 9:30 pm. I arrived at 5:00 and loved that early time. Plenty of parking was available and there were very few other people.  I took my time walking through the display being sure not to miss a thing. Even saw Santa Claus. The lights were beautiful

The weather was a bit chilly and windy but there were plenty of places to warm up. The bathrooms were nice and toasty and there were multiple facilities as you walked along. There was an area that had chairs around fire pits. I would say there were a dozen of these and located right next to a food cart so you can get a snack, sit down and enjoy it by the fire.
The path you walked was around a pond and I thought the lights reflecting off the water was beautiful. Pictures do not give it justice.
One section had a bridge you walked over and then you entered zoo-ville which was a play of whoville from the grinch who stole christmas.

The pictures in this blog post give you an idea of what you will see but the lights are so much better in person than in pictures. You really should go. I entered the park at 5:05 pm and left at 6:23 pm. If you get tired walking you will be happy to know there are plenty of places to sit and relax. so many benched were along the water which made for beauriful photo ops.

here are a few more views from Roger William Holiday Lights Spectacular
