Cape Cod Day Trip to Chatham
Every October I take a day trip to Chatham. I always go to Kate Gould Park to walk around looking at the pumpkin people. Local businesses put up a display. I was a little disappointed this year. I feel that there were displays this year and they weren't as entertaining as last year. My favorites were these three
Then there were a couple more that I will give honorable mention
The weather was perfect for walking around so I had lots of company in the park. Unfortunately we had some warm days this month so there were a few pumpkins that were rotting and falling apart, but it was still worth the trip.
I recommend you take the trip. There is a nice brick path to walk along and all the displays are set up close to the path.
After that I went out for lunch in Yarmouth at Oliver and Planks Tavern. I got the ribs and they were melt in your mouth delicious. With nice crispy fries. And as always when down the cape I started my meal with a cup of clam chowder. It was very tasty but I still think Captain Parker's chowder is a little bit better.
Since I am talking about Oliver and Planks I should also mention the last time I went there. I got surf and turf, scallops and filet. My husband got just scallops. The food was sooooo good. That was the reason I went back this time. (only my 2nd time at Oliver and Planks)
And one more thing, when in Yarmouth, be sure to look for the sand sculptures. Here are a few I found
If anyone has any suggestions of where to go for my next day trip in New England, be sure to leave me a comment.
