Winter Beach Trips

Winter is always a slow time for me. I don't take too many trips in the cold weather. Last week we had a couple of warm days so I took a ride to the cape and went for a walk along the beach. I love being by the water even if it is windy and chilly. There is something about the sound of the waves that is so relaxing and on a chilly day the beach isn't crowded.

I went to West Dennis beach which is a little over a mile long so I can get a nice long walk. There were several people there walking their dogs. I even spotted a couple of swans in the ocean. this is such a nice place to walk.

After leaving West Dennis Beach, I went for a walk around my favorite store in that area, Cuffy's. They are currently having a GREAT sale. Most summer t-shirts are 70% off. I bought two short sleeve t-shirts for only $4.20 each. If the clothing isn't 70% off then it is 50% off.  the sand sculptures are still standing and they are worth the trip. If you haven't been to Cuffy's make sure you stop in the next time you go to Dennis.
After doing a little shopping I headed to Yarmouth and went for a walk along Seaview beach. I had the place to myself but couldn't walk to far because the tide was coming in and there really isn't a beach once you hit high tide. the water comes all the way up at the area where I parked and started my walk.
Before I headed home I had to make a stop at the cape cod canal. No trip is complete without a stop there. Too bad there weren't any ships passing by.

Now that I have gone to the water once this winter I feel like going more. I will have to find a day to go to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire and possible go to Ogunquit Maine and walk along Marginal way.
The best thing about visiting Hampton Beach, NH in the winter is that the public bathrooms are open. They are one of the few places that keeps a bathroom open year round. Thank you New Hampshire!

There are a few days coming up with dry weather and temps over freezing, so maybe one of these days I will travel to NH

I always try to go for a walk every day and being by the water makes my walk more enjoyable.
