Perkins Cove

Last week I took a day trip to the small fishing village of Perkins Cove located in Ogunquit, Maine. I can't wait to go back again.

There is limited parking in Perkins cove, all lots were full when I got there at 10:45 am so I parked in a lot that was a half mile walk to the start of Marginal way. The parking lot cost $15. If you are lucky enough to get a spot in the closer lot, that one is $20 for the day.

Marginal Way is a walking path along the ocean with gorgeous views. There are several benches throughout the entire path so you can take a rest or just sit and take in the views. I walked 1.5 miles to the lighthouse and then turned around and walked back. If you plan to go, you should know that there are quite a few hills to walk up and down along the path. This is a short video I took as I was resting on a bench. Unfortunately I was there at low tide so I have to go back when it is high tide. I am sure the views will be spectacular.

After coming back from the walk I ate lunch at Oarweed Seafood Restaurant which was at the beginning of Marginal way. The view from my seat was beautiful. I hade a Fish sandwich which was rather large and filling for $17

After lunch I walked around Perkins Cove and visited the little shops. Of course I had to make a purchase in the candy store.
After shopping I sat on a bench and watched the tide coming in. I find it so relaxing to sit by the water.

On the way back to the parking lot I passed a Christmas store so I went in. I can never skip a Christmas shop. So many GREAT holiday items. There was one room that had all Halloween items. Since the prices were good I decided to spend some mney.

I had such a fun day I am sure I will go back soon. Maybe later in fall the parking lots won't be so full.
I highly recommend that you visit the area.
