Quick Service food at Disney

 When choosing restaurants at Disney, I could not afford to have all meals at a sit down restaurant so I ate several at quick service locations. I have mostly positive comments for everywhere I ate.

At Magic Kingdom - Friar Nook in fantasy land had a wonderful breakfast sandwich on a multi grain croissant and tater tots for under $15 and it was delicious and quite filling. I also enjoyed my corn dog bites and fries at Casey's Corner. So much food that  couldn't finish it all. The meal was $12 and my soda was $5.

At Epcot - When I was there it was festival of the holidays so each country had a stand with holiday food specials. While I was in china I had an eggroll order which was two large eggrolls for $5 which is cheaper than back home. They filled me up so much that the only other food I had in epcot was dessert of a mini funnel cake topped with peppermint ice cream, whipped cream, and candy cane pieces. That was delicious! and cost just under $10

Hollywood Studios - I ate and drank at Dockside Diner. Their menu is very limited but the chipotle chicken salad roll was yummy. Each sandwich comes with their homemade chips which have a kick to them. I also recommend the blue sea margarita. Also had to stop at Anaheim Produce to get myself a Mickey Pretzel with dipping cheese. I paid $15 for my chicken. $10 for my margarita, and $8 for my pretzel.

Dockside Diner is located in a boat which is what first attracted me to this restaurant.



Resorts - I also ate at some of the resorts as I did resort hopping to check out all the Christmas decorations. If you are ever at the Polynesian and looking for quick service food, I recommend Captain Cooke's. The aloha pork sandwich with fries for $12 was great! then you have to step outside to visit the Pineapple Lanai for a dole whip either with or without alcohol. If you are at the Grand Floridian and interested in a delicious sandwich. stop by Gasparilla Island Grill. They also offer some tasty desserts. The sandwiches were all under $15. I had the blackened chicken sandwich with fries for $12.50 

I stayed at the Coronado Springs so I had a couple of meals at El Mercado. Everything was good except the chicken tenders were quite dry with no flavor. The bacon egg and cheese breakfast was delicious. It came with 2 hash browns at a cost of only $10. The nachos were also very good. They came with salsa, cream cheese and beef. for $14. I bought a souvenir refillable mug for $20. Free refills at any resort for the duration of my stay. This was a great deal because each drink was $4.50 so after 5 drinks I made money and I stayed for 6 days so I had lots of refills. 

One last note - Disney desserts are the BEST!

 What a beautiful waterfront city to explore, especially if you like lighthouses and enjoy exploring old forts.  We took the almost 3 hour drive North on a Thursday. Traveled route 495 to 95 at 8am and there was light traffic. I always have to make a couple of stops so if you are like me, it will comfort you to know that there are some nice rest stops on route 95 in Maine. First is the visitor information center just over the Maine border. This place has rest rooms and plenty of tourist information along with a couple of helpful people working there. Next stop is in Kennebunk. This place has a variety of food options (Burger King, Popeyes, food mart, and coming soon is Dunkin Donuts) also some large rest rooms. Both places were nice and clean. The first light house we explored was Portland Head Light at Fort Williams. There is plenty of parking here but be aware the cost to park is $5 for two hours. A day in Plymouth, Ma

 The first weekend in November I made a trip to Plymouth. I really enjoyed myself walking around the waterfront. All the restaurants were open as well as the tourist souvenir shops. I was also pleased that the building with public restrooms was open as well and quite clean. This year I went looking for the painted scallop shells. Found some very nice ones. Two years ago the town had painted lobsters all about. Cabbyshack restaurant had both their lobster and scallop shell on display. I walked along the water finding many painted shells, saw lots of people touring the Mayflower and I took a peak at Plymouth Rock. Here are a few of the scallop shells I found by the water, This first weekend in November is when Plymouth North holds their annual craft fair so I went there and walked around. Casino Fun

 I am not someone who goes to the casino all the time but I do enjoy a trip to one every now and then. Recently I went to visit Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. It was my first time here and I would definitely take the 4 hour drive to visit again. The casino was extremely clean and bright. Lots of cute shops throughout the place. and so many restaurants to pick from. I went with my sister, who lives in NY, and we chose to eat at the casino buffet. Delicious!! The cost was $39.99 per person for a buffet with so many choices: taco bar, seafood, Chinese, BBQ, carving station, fried food, Italian and of course many delightful desserts.  I had prime rib from the carving station and it melted in my mouth, I had to go back for seconds on that.
