Sand Sculptures

Every year, in mid July, I take a day trip to Yarmouth, Ma where I go on the hunt for all the sand sculptures. The first stop is at the visitors rest area on route 6. This is where I pick up the map for the locations of all the sculptures and there is always a sand sculpture there to great you.

This year my daughter and I started at 9am, we went to Wareham and joined with my sister and her daughter and off we went for a girls day road trip. Always a good time for everyone. we had the car loaded with snacks and drinks so we were prepared for a long day.

These are a few of the best that we found.

found at pancake house

found at Bass River golf course

Found at Dennis Yarmouth high school on the baseball field

The last one was found outside the Hearth and Kettle restaurant, so we stopped there for lunch a little after 1:00. We have stopped here before and always find the food to be good, The other concept that we like is the restaurant serves breakfast all day.

We left the restaurant and went in search of the final 16 sculptures, as there were 32 in all.

Elvis was found at the "Music Room"

This next one was cute from "Finding Nemo"

After finding all the sand sculptures on the map, we headed to Cuffy's in West Dennis to do some shopping.  They have a great store on route 28. The store is currently under construction and I am so excited to see it when complete. But the store is open during construction.

Inside, in addition to some great clothing, toys, souvenirs, and food, we found some adorable sand sculptures. I highly recommend a stop here at Cuffy's whenever you are in the area of Dennis.

The last stop of our day was at Cape Cod creamery, for some ice cream. I think next year we will find another ice cream spot because this one is getting pretty expensive. $6.80 for one scoop of ice cream in a cone. Although the ice cream is delicious!
