Rhode Island road trip

Narragansett and the surrounding area has a lot to offer other than beaches. I took a "rhode" trip to explore.

First stop was the village of Wickford.

There are several little shops and restaurants. Many restaurants have outdoor decks on the water.

Spent a couple of hours walking around here, bought a few things, then ventured on to the next town of Kingstown.

Here we went to the Azalea gardens. They were not in bloom but there were some nice things to see and it was a nice place to walk around. I will definitely go back next year when the azaleas are in bloom. I should also mention that admission is free, but donations are accepted and they sell quite a few different plants.

Next was the Hannah Robinson Tower. I was a little disappointed when I reached the top because there were too many trees blocking what should have been a nice view.

The next town was Narragansett. We stopped at Aunt Carrie's to get some delicious ice cream. We decided on ice cream for our lunch. Then we traveled to fisherman's memorial at point Judith. The memorial was at the bottom of the stairs and beautiful views were at the top of the stairs.

There was a small beach there as well as a long jetty to walk out on. At the top of the stairs there is a small park complete with benches and there were a few people that had brought their own chairs up there to just sit for awhile and enjoy the view. At the time I was up there, people were watching the two seals in the ocean below.
It was a nice day exploring some different sights in Rhode Island.
