LaSalette Shrine Christmas Display

Image
Last week I went to see the Christmas light display at Roger Williams Park Zoo and this week I went to see the beautiful FREE display at LaSalette Shrine in Attleboro, Ma. I went last night when the weather was warm so there were lots of people there. The lights come on at 5:00 so I made sure i was there before that and I was so surprised at the amount of cars already there. The Main parking lot was full so I went to what I call the overflow lot which was 3/4 full. That over flow lot is circled in red in the picture below. Admission is free but there are food booths set up that sell hot chocolate, hot apple cider, fried dough, hot dogs and there are fire pits so you can buy the makings for smores.  There is also an areaset for little ones with a train ride and carousal. There is so much to see you should give yourself an hour to walk around. There is also a gift shop to go in and warm up on a cold night. They also have the bathrooms inside open when the lights are on. Here are some...

Holiday Lights Spectacular

Image
I love looking at all the Christmas light displays this time of year. On Thursday I went to one display for the first time. I went to the Holiday Lights Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island. I highly reccomend this to everyone. The cost is $15 for adults and $13 for kiddos. Under 2 years of age are free. You must buy your tickets online and you have to pick your arrival time starting with the 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and ending with 8:00 to 9:00 pm. The event closes for the day at 9:30 pm. I arrived at 5:00 and loved that early time. Plenty of parking was available and there were very few other people.  I took my time walking through the display being sure not to miss a thing. Even saw Santa Claus. The lights were beautiful The weather was a bit chilly and windy but there were plenty of places to warm up. The bathrooms were nice and toasty and there were multiple facilities as you walked along. There was an area that had chairs around fire pits. I would say there ...

Winter Trips

Where to go in the winter? I am not taking any vacations because I already spent a lot of money on my upcoming Disney vacation in March and then when I get there, I will be spending a lot more. So this winter I am just looking to do some local places. I plan to go to see Christmas lights at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island and I also will head to LaSallette Shrine in Attleboro to view their FREE display of Holiday lights. That is one place I go at least once every year. Once Christmas is over I may head to NH to go to the ice castles, but after that I will need to find places to go in January and February. Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate it if you left me a message with your ideas.
